Who Are We

We are part of the body of Christ and we seek to glorify God in all that we do and to make him known.

Affiliation: We are an independent Church associated with a group of other independent Churches called the Churches of Christ in Queensland.

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible is the Word of God. It is sufficient for all matters of theology, doctrine, and practice.

We believe that there is one living and true God who is creator of all things. God exists eternally in relationship as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He is Emmanuel which means “God with us” and that He and the Father are one. We believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again three days later, that all who believe in Him would have eternal life and salvation from sins.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and that He has been sent as a teacher to teach and remind us of all that Jesus taught, to gift us with the ability to glorify God, to convict us of sin, and to keep us until the day of redemption.

We believe that through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross we are saved by Grace through faith in Jesus. We believe we that can do nothing by our own merit to earn salvation, but that forgiveness of sins and salvation from death and hell are given to us freely by the grace of God.

We believe that we have all fallen short and that all of us sin. Jesus Christ is our only hope and in Him, by grace through faith, we have a hope that is eternal.

A priesthood of all believers: we believe that all believers in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, are able and responsible for reading and interpreting Scripture for themselves and being led by the Holy Spirit. We believe that this instruction comes from the Word of God and the Spirit of God to each believer.

Jesus Christ is the only head of the Church and the only Good Shepherd. Every individual in the Church is to be led by Him and governed by the Word and the Holy Spirit. As a Church we hold to the Biblical model of Church government. Our elders are Godly men who address the spiritual matters of the Church. Our board is made up of believers who are called and gifted to address the practical matters of the Church.

We practice believer's Baptism by immersion. Baptism is an ordinance of Jesus and is for those who profess faith in Him.

As Jesus ordained, when we gather together we break bread to remember His sacrifice on the Cross for us. We do this each week in our corporate worship time, and all professing believers in Jesus Christ are able to participate.
